Today my Easter Photo is a tiny one....only 7 days old :)
Its Easter Week!! So every day this week I will post an Easter related photo :) I hope you all enjoy :)
Today we will start out with more from the client session I had two weeks ago with that wonderful 5 year old who had a great personality. It was his idea to do Easter photos and these poses were all his. He saw my basket and wanted to take photos with it. He was so fun to photograph!
Since it's been a few days since I have posted something, thought i would show you the more extended Harpo Marx photos.
Still have plans to do more and do some with Alex as well. Just been busy the last few weeks :)
It took some time, but I finally got Brett's 3rd birthday photos all shot.
Between it being too sunny and raining, i had to shoot whatever I could for a few different days.
So here are some of my favorites.
I have been wanting to do this photo for quite some time, I did an indoor and an outdoor version
Finally got brett to do a "number three" :)
I went and took him to the train musuem again where I did his train photos from last year. Even though it was bright and sunny and not freezing, it was still cold out. I think I will take some more of these this spring/summer when its warmer out.
Since I finally am getting caught up on edting all my photos, thought I would share this one of me and Alex.
and while taking this photo of course Brett couldnt sit by and not be in a photo :)

I cannot believe that Alex is almost one year old already!
I had to take a few one year photos so I could create an invitation for his birthday party.
I actually got a super sweet photo that I love.
I know alex isnt smiling and he really does, contrary to what photos show. but its also sooooo alex. and quite frankly the fact that the number one on his shirt, the 1 on the car and the "first birthday" on the hat all showing is way more important then if he would have smiled.
For anyone with a good memory, this photo will look VERY familiar. Its very similar to what I used for Brett's first birthday invitation. However, this is actually the type of photo I wanted to achieve 2 years ago when I went to do Brett's first birthday photos.
Here is brett's version.
but I like Alex's better because I have really photography wise in 2 years and now have seamless paper, the shirt actually shows (in Brett's it was a cold January day)
On Monday I had a session with a 3 month little girl and her 5 year old brother.
He was such a ham for the camera. I love when kids come up with their own poses, totally showing off their personalities!
He really reminded me of my 3 year old, like what my boy will be like in another 2 years.
and the 3 month old had some poses of her own too :)
she was such a sweet 3 month old :)
I had a lot of fun doing this session. Both kids were great at posing.
I will share a few more from this session in the next week or so, during "Easter Week" :)
2 years ago on one of my photography boards several people were recreating old Hollywood photos or famous actors.Breakfast at Tiffany's being a big one. (Which by the way I have a plan for, just need to get it all to come together).
Anyway, most people were doing these shots with girls, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, etc
That is when I thought I needed to do something fun and different and find a male role that could be recreated... and it dawned on me, Charlie Chaplin. He was recognizeable and fun.
So March 2008, I dressed up Brett (12 months old) the best I could (i put him in shoes that were 3 sizes bigger and pants that were a lot bigger, pinned the jacket behind his back) and with some help from photoshop (the cane is actually red and i needed to darken a lot of the shadows), I created my all time favorite photo I have ever taken.
I dressed him up again in November 2008 (20 months old) to recreate this shot...
not exactly what I had in mind, but it works. it was a little tricky getting the dog and the not even 2 year old to recreate an old photo! lol
Then in November 2009 (2.5 years old), I put together another idea to try to recreate Marlon Brando.
Not shabby. Although i think i might try again with some better props, but i like it.
so flash forward to yesterday (3 years old). I have had the idea to do a Harpo Marx for over a year. I just needed to piece the outfit together and well get time to do it. Yesterday was the day, almost 2 years to the exact day I create the Charlie Chaplin photo.
Here is one version I got. Again with some help from photoshop I was able to get what I wanted and am very happy. Since it takes me about 2 hours to edit one photo when I am doing these old Hollywood types, it might be a few days until I can share more from my Harpo session.
And I have lots more ideas for both Brett and Alex. I find this extremely fun to do. These are the shots I not only have fun taking, but I have fun planning them. researching the photos, the costumes, trying to find the pieces, etc and to see it all come together just makes me giddy :)

Every month on my personal blogs I do a little write up about random thoughts I have. Figured I could share some things here too each month both personal and photo related.
Got this idea from the fabulous Tara Whitney and as much as I would love to include a family photo like she does, I only get a few times a year that hubby will let me do family photos and I want to do that after Alex gets his haircut this weekend. Sooooo maybe that needs to be my goal this month to get an updated family photo since we havent done one in months.....
So here we go:
*I spent 20 minutes this month trying to edit out a weird area on one of my photos. Then i realized it was a smudge on my computer....
*Between potty training brett and alex having a little GI bug, I am up to my ears in pee, poop, and diapers. I would say I cant wait to be done with this, but I LOVE having my boys be little and they already grow up too fast. I am going to enjoy this stage as long as it lasts, even with its messes.
*I got a new lens this month. We shall see in the long run if I like it or not. I got it mainly for snapshots and using at amusement parks, so it wont be used on any of my photo sessions. I really need a day trip or vacation to see if I like it.
*Lost started back up. LOVE that show :)
*Didn't go to the doctor as much this month but still having issues. I have an appointment in March. I hope to get some answers.
*I have really loved watching the olympics and am a little bummed we didnt go get Chris his enhanced drivers license. (he lost his passport!) We really missed the ball, as this olympics really is in our backyard. we just wanted to drive up for a day and walk around the area to say we went.
*We are currently planning three vacations. Although just recently we thought about downgrading one of them. We might go to Oregon instead of Northern California. Then we have our annual Southern California and Disneyland trip for this summer. And then next year we are going to Hawaii for a week to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We won 3 free nights at a condo on Maui, so at least 1/2 the trip will be spent at a really nice hotel!!
*I am still so behind on my personal photo stuff. I really want to use March as a catch up month. I need to get caught up on my personal blogs, make a 2009 blog book, and then I need to make Alex's first year book too.
*I also have to start getting ready for Alex's first birthday. Should be taking some photos in the next few weeks for his invites. Its amazing to me that its that time already. This year has gone by fast!
